POWERFUL PRESS RELEASES
A superbly written press release garners power. While many companies have human resource departments, it is fascinating to note that many of the C Level Executives opt to contract 3rd party recruiters. Why? HR departments have to have a meeting to have a meeting. This is counter productive and many corporations employ a “who you know” system and encourage employees to refer their associates and even friends to apply for job positions.
This hiring malpractice is rife from coast to coast within the United States and 3rd party recruiters are hired as HR Specialists to fulfill a job opening that salaried HR Executives within companies; themselves are not tasked or entrusted to fulfill. Recruiters represent top level candidates and efficiently, methodically and effectively fulfill job openings based on true grit experience and skills.
TLC – PR SPECIALISTS
A parallel exists with Public Relations and especially with respect to press releases. Too often, executives or employees of a company will draft and publish a press release internally. The task becomes executed, however the majority of press releases are rather underwhelming and mediocre at best.
A mediocre press release will not garner attention and becomes more of a formal “Progress Report” than a genuine press release.
Powerful press releases are designed to gain “OVT” or organic viral traction, this is conducted by information being voluntarily passed peer to peer or person to person. However, the true test of a successful Press Release arrives when part of the media and or press core will use the press release within their media. A prime example is a magazine or podcast that takes the press release and then recycles it within their media so a publishing house that has several magazine will publish the press release or discuss it within one or more of their magazines. A podcast host could take a press release and invite a spokesman from the company to elaborate on the press release.
Toro Leon Consulting specializes to write powerful, engaging press releases that are designed to add value not report progress. The concept of “adding value” is more often than not – not understood by both internal employees, and or executives of companies as well as generalist service providers such as Ad Agencies or Marketing Firms.
